April 10, 2018 MEETING MINUTES
The meeting was called to order by President Kent Bamford.
Directors in attendance were Kent Bamford, Kerry Kemper, Matt Herrman, Jim Weimer, Mark Hillman, Miguel Pena, Jim McCall, Sandy Miller, Kim Oliver and Treasurer Larry Terrell.
Larry Terrell presented the March treasurers report. The report was approved as presented. Sandy Miller moved to pay the D&O and Fire and Disaster Insurance, seconded by Mark Hillman. Motion passed.
Sandy Miller moved to pay the NHBPA annual dues, seconded by Matt Herrman. Motion passed.
Minutes from the March meeting were postponed to the May meeting.
Bruce Seymore was present to give the Arapahoe Park update.
Shannon Rushton reported on the Colorado Racing Commission meeting.
Horsemenís Liaison-Kerry Kemper reported several new barns may be heading to Arapahoe Park.
Track Surface-Kim Oliver reported nothing new at this time.
Condition Book-Mark Hillman had nothing new at this time.
Track Kitchen-Kerry Kemper met with David Lebsock about the kitchen and found someone to operate it.
Backside-Sandy Miller reported nothing new at this time.
Legislative-Mark Hillman reported SB 172 and SB 182 have been passed and signed by the governor. SB 182 will supplement the purse fund with revenue paid by ADW companies that take wagers from Colorado customers.† SB 172 re-authorizes the Division of Racing to conduct random testing of licensed backside personnel.
Sandy miller moved to replace the CHA laptop not to exceed $1000, seconded by Kerry Kemper. Motion passed.
With no further business the meeting was adjourned.
